My Journey with Black Tulip Flowers
On December 5th, 2022, I joined Black Tulip Flowers as a Photographer, Videographer, and Social Media Manager, diving into the world of floral artistry and e-commerce. This role allowed me to combine my passion for photography with strategic social media management, helping bring Black Tulip’s stunning arrangements to a broader audience.
Crafting Floral Visuals for Digital Spaces
My primary responsibility was capturing the beauty of our floral products for the website, newsletters, and social media platforms. Flowers have a unique appeal—they’re delicate, vibrant, and convey emotion. Through photography and videography, I focused on showcasing each bloom's intricacies, ensuring that our visuals felt as fresh and captivating as the flowers themselves.
With Canon 5D Mark IV as my primary camera, I utilized various lenses, including a 90mm Macro for close-up shots, a 50mm Prime for portrait-style captures, and a 24-70mm f/2.8 Zoom for versatility. The detailed shots allowed our customers to see the quality of our flowers up close, while broader frames conveyed the elegance of full arrangements. Using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and Photoshop, I edited each piece with care, ensuring the colors and textures of the flowers translated beautifully on screen.

Social Media Strategies for Boosting Sales
In addition to creating visual content, I managed Black Tulip’s social media strategy, scheduling posts and aligning them with Meta’s algorithm to maximize reach. My approach was to keep our audience engaged while showcasing the elegance of our floral arrangements in a way that was authentic to the brand.
I led two impactful campaigns that not only strengthened our online presence but also directly boosted sales:
1. Valentine’s Day Influencer Marketing Campaign
Ahead of Valentine’s Day, I spearheaded an influencer marketing campaign to drive sales. Collaborating with influencers allowed us to reach new audiences who were actively looking for floral gifts. The campaign was a success, resulting in a 25% increase in sales compared to the previous year. The influencers helped position Black Tulip Flowers as the go-to choice for Valentine’s Day, highlighting our quality and service.

2. ‘Follow Us for Free Flowers’ Campaign at Manipal University
In another campaign, I tapped into the idea of giving back to the community while boosting our social media following. After a peak business period, we had leftover flowers, which inspired me to create a QR poster for a giveaway campaign. We set up a roll-up stand with a QR code leading to our Instagram page, inviting students at Manipal University to follow us in exchange for a flower.
The event was a hit, especially among the students. By the end, we had gained 2,000 new followers, bringing a fresh, youthful audience to our page and increasing our engagement levels significantly.
Lessons Learned and the Power of Creativity
Working with Black Tulip Flowers taught me the importance of creativity and adaptability. Capturing floral products requires an eye for detail, a steady hand, and an understanding of how to bring out the best in each arrangement. At the same time, managing social media campaigns showed me the value of strategic planning and the impact of connecting with the right audience.
My journey with Black Tulip Flowers has been a blend of creativity, strategy, and hands-on learning.
